OCIA – Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
(formerly known as RCIA)
The OCIA is a process during which:
- you can learn about all those things you were wondering about
- hear teachers give explanations and interact with them when you have questions
- learn about the different prayers and their meaning
- go through the parts of the Mass in slow motion
- find out what Catholics really believe about Mary
and so many other topics.

Who is OCIA for?
OCIA is for anyone who has never been baptized, or who has been baptized in another Christian denomination, or who has been baptized Catholic but with no further catechesis (formation in the Faith). This process is for any adult or youth beyond the age of 7 years. Just give us a call, no pressure. We will do what we can to assist you.
When is the best time to become part of the OCIA Process?
Since we have a year-round process, the right time is when you and God decide the time is right! Have you been thinking about it repeatedly? Wondering what you need to do? Asking in your heart, “Is this for me?” If that sounds like you, then it would be good to check out OCIA at Holy Spirit Parish.
